PERSONAL INSURANCE

ALIEN WORKERS MEDICAL INSURANCE

The Alien Workers Medical Insurance is designed for alien workers coming from a country other than member-states of the European Union and apply for temporary residence and work permit in Cyprus or for the extension of such permit.

This insurance is compulsory by legislation and it is the obligation of the employer of the alien workers. Furthermore, it is a prerequisite for the issuing of an entry permit or renewal of a temporary residence and work permit of these foreigners in Cyprus.

The following schemes of insurance cover are available:

Details of the cover and benefits applicable for each scheme, is provided in the table below.

1. In – Patient Treatment Scheme 1 & 2
Maximum amount per illness or accident €9.000
Maximum amount per period of insurance €14.000
Daily room and board expenses per day €75
Daily room and board expenses of the Insured Person at an intensive unit per day €175
Maternity Benefit (normal delivery or caesarean cession) lump sum
The benefits are payable provided that:
(a) The delivery occurs 10 months after the date of the commencement of the Policy,and
(b) In case of termination of employment of the Insured Person, provided that the pregnancy started within the period that the person was Insured, following always the condition (a)		 €550
Cover for repatriation of the mortal €3.500
2. Out – Patient Treatment Scheme 2
Maximum amount per illness or accident €700
Maximum amount per period of insurance €1.800
Maximum amount per doctor visit €20

Cover Percentage 90% – the 10% will be overwhelmed by the employer
